We work with families, school districts, and agencies to generate person-centered transition plans that address the unique needs of teens of all abilities. Whether you are looking for an transition plan for an IEP or a more formal plan following a model such as PATH or MAPs, our trained staff can develop one to meet your needs. With a particular expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorders & ADHD, our staff pride themselves on integrating the individuals strengths with the areas of weakness that will impact their college and/or career readiness. These services are either private pay or paid by school districts or waiver programs. Contact us to learn more.
Social functioning creates the foundation of a successful career and independent living. We offer many opportunities to socialize on-site at our community center through activity groups around shared interests (such as video gaming) or game nights, pot-luck dinners and more. In addition, we offer many opportunities for community experiences such as sports, theater, museums, bowling, billiards, restaurants, and more. After a brief hiatus, these programs are scheduled to resume in the Fall of 2018. Contact us to be added to an interest list. These services are either private pay or paid by school district contract, compensatory education fund, or public waiver programs.
We offer an array of services that support career readiness. We will work with a family to understand and maximize the opportunities for supports through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and other private and publicly funded local career readiness programs. We also set up volunteer opportunities with volunteer coaches, which is often the most effective first step. We offer private job finding and job coaching as well as providing those services through waiver programs once OVR supports have been exhausted. These services are either private pay or paid by school district contract, compensatory education fund, or public waiver programs (once OVR services are exhausted). NOTE: We are not currently an OVR provider.
Our life coaching services are tailored to the unique needs of the individual. Life coaching can be done on a very professional level with master's and PhD level practitioners who guide teens/young adults to compensate for processing, learning difficulties and executive function deficits or can be done on a more basic level with highly trained bachelor's level staff who provide accountability and can be present on-site where the challenges occur (e.g., in the community, at college, etc.). Our community integration services help transition the individual away from prompting from parents to guidance from support staff. Our tutors are master's level special educators that can help identify and support particular learning needs. These services are either private pay or paid by school district contract, compensatory education fund, or public waiver programs.
Spectra is an approved Department of Human Servicesprovider for Adult Autism, PFDS, Community Living, and Consolidated Waiver services for many services. We also help families to identify if they qualify for waiver services and learn how to apply. Actual waiver services are covered through the state Medical Assistance program once approved. Contact us to request information about assistance in applying for waivers, advocacy at ISP meetings and related services are private pay.
Spectra has masters level behavior specialists on staff who have particular expertise in designing positive behavior support plans for home and school settings. We also offer individual, group, and family psychotherapy by practitioners with experience serving those with all cognitive and communication abilities. We use various modalities including sandtray , assisted communication, and mindfulness to help these individuals actively participate in the therapeutic process to the best of their abilities. For these services, email intake@spectrapa.com. These services are either private pay or paid by school district contract, compensatory education fund, or public waiver programs. We are NOT providers of BHRS or "wrap-around" services, although we can sometimes access private health insurance for behavior services for individuals with ASD prior to the age of 21. Our psychotherapy services are typically covered by private insurances and by medical assistance for Delaware County residents.
