Our Story

Two mothers with over 40 years combined experience in the field of developmental disabilities decided to combine their private practices to form Spectra Support Services, LLC in 2012. Patricia J. Gonzalez, LPC, MT-BC brought with her extensive experience in school, hospital, private, and geriatric settings using music as the medium to promote change in her clients' physical, social, and emotional well-being. Her sister Maleita Olson, LCSW was developing a unique approach by blending her background in social work and behavior therapy with her extensive knowledge of the social service system to optimize outcomes for her clients.

​As private practitioners, both Patricia and Maleita witnessed the frustrations of families as they tried to “navigate the system” and secure the most effective supports for their family members.  As adult siblings of a brother with a disability, the two therapists personally experienced the service gaps and difficulty accessing resources that exist from preschool through adulthood. Spectra Support Services, LLC was born to provide a place where the unique needs and challenges of individuals with disabilities and their family members are accepted and understood. Their agency uses this knowledge as a foundation to designing supports that will promote change and improve lives.​
